JOB DESCRIPTION
TITLE: Senior Accountant DEPARTMENT: Inside Services
REPORTS TO: David Liefeld, COO
MISSION OF POSITION: Manages the financial health of the corporation by executing accounting and financial activities as well as analyzing and presenting financial information for the purpose of helping others make smart decisions.
ESSENTIAL OUTCOMES:
Prepares asset, liability, and capital account entries by entering, compiling, and analyzing account information
Manages all aspects of A/P by establishing vendor accounts, processing invoices, and making timely payments
Manages all aspects of A/R by negotiating terms clients, coordinating billing information, submitting timely invoices, and minimizing collection days.
Processes accurate payroll by understanding payroll software, tracking payroll changes, and submitting payroll on time
Maintains accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures
Maintains financial security by following internal controls and adhering to strict confidentiality
Maximizes return, and limits risk on cash by minimizing bank balances, making investments, and wisely using bank line of credit
Complies with legal requirements by understanding legislation and enforcing adherence to requirements
Prepares the annual budget by establishing schedules, recommending plans, and working with the leadership team to complete achievable targets
Achieves budget objectives by scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions
Helps the management team understand financial health by preparing clear month end summaries and reports utilizing charts and graphs in a presentation format
Creates a more efficient work environment by working with client account staff so they have proper financial data to understand and monitor project financials
Recommends financial actions by analyzing financial options and participating in senior leadership meetings as requested
Assures a healthy and complete financial situation by working with our outside accountant, legal counsel and our consultant CFO
Contributes to team effort by completing special financial projects or helping in other areas as needed by the company and as directed by the COO
Helps assure that the company’s benefit plans objectives are met by participating in the selection and administration of the health and retirement benefit programs
Builds company image by keeping focus on the value of the customer and enforcing ethical business practices
Maintains professional and technical knowledge by taking advantage of learning opportunities
